Urushi is a material that has played an important role in the world of arts and crafts around the world. In Vietnam, urushi created a new genre in artwork when it was used in Western paintings during the French colonial period. In recent years, however, economic growth led to the simplification of the technique and use of alternative materials. Natural urushi has flexibility and profoundness. Elaborated urushi is extremely expressive. I want to convey the unique beauty of Vietnam urushi artwork.
