漆は、恐怖を感じるような闇を有している反面、とても美しい鏡面を持っています。この対極する２つの要素が、見る人の心を惹きつけるのだと思います。私は、安心や不安、喜びや悲しみといった対極する思いを抱えながらも逞しく生きている人間の姿を、人体と抽象形態が融合した不思議な形態と漆で表現しています。

Contrary to its fear－inducing darkness, urushi has an extremely beautiful mirror surface. These
two bipolar elements are the very things that attract viewers. Human beings live strongly between
the opposite feelings of comfort and anxiety, and happiness and sadness. To express this, I use
urushi and a mysterious form that combines bodies and abstract figures.
