私は身の回りにある日常的でないもの、仏具や祭祀に使う道具などにインスピレーションを受けて造形し、それらを非日常的な道具として見立てます。漆と併せて用いる獣毛や羽根、皮革も日々の営みを超えた世界を垣間見させるのには重要な素材です。祭や祝いの日など非日常を現す「ハレ」という言葉に道具の意味合いを加えた「ハレノグ」という私の表現は、作品づくりの主要なテーマとなっています。

I create uncommon tools inspired by things beyond our ordinary life, ritual articles, and tools used in festivals. Fur, feathers, and leather used together with urushi are also important materials to give a glimpse of a surreal world. My main theme is “Harenogu” a word that I created. It means “a tool used in special occasions” such as festivals and celebrati ons.
