創作の過程で、心の奥深くのある種の声音を見つめその声が近くなるにつれ、常に成形について模索し続け、そして魅了されている。この音に沿って、どのような形式でどのような修飾方法を選択する必要があるか、告げられる。そして、漆は豊かな生命力の質感から多彩な表現が可能であり、表現の模索過程はさらに可能性を拡張させてくれる。それは複雑で長い制作工程に向かい合う勇気を与えてくれ、またそれを苦に感じることはなく楽しむことができている。

Whilst creating artworks, you stare at the deepest of your hear t and listen to voices of some sort. As you hear them come closer and closer, you continuously endeavor to capture the ideal shape; and you realize you’re completely enticed. You follow that voice, and it, as though an oracle, tells you what forms and qualifiers to take. Urushi, because of its vivid texture, enables various expressions. This variation again further expands the possibility. It gives you the courage to face the often long and complicated stages in the making of the artwork. You don’t feel the pain but only the happiness.
