“A Puzzling Statement”では、燃え上がる混乱を表現するために燃えるような赤を使用した。激しい振動を伴う緊迫した灼熱の空間を作り上げる意図があったのだ。この作品が伝えるのは答えのない疑問や未解決のためらいと、それに意味を見出そうとする切望に満ちた情熱だ。私の作品の多くと同様に、この絵画は、私自身が感じていた一連の感情から生まれたものだ。私はそれらの感情を、鮮やかな回想に満ちた芸術的な喚起を促すことで再現し、鑑賞者と分かち合わなくてはならないという衝動に駆られることがある。
“Facets of Conception”は、母親の子宮内で受胎するという特別な瞬間を視覚的に捉える狙いがある。これは、一人一人が単なる可能性の状態を脱して有機的な現実となる生き生きとした瞬間だ。生命を育み鼓動するこの聖地で、生命の誕生に寄与する様々な力が強力に結合することにより、ゆっくりと肉体化してゆく瞬間だ。この彫刻はプリント生地断片で加工した27面体で構成されており、面のそれぞれが大きなリズムの一部を奏でる独立した絵画だ。私の作品の中には、始まりと出産に関する原始的な感情に色を持たせる狙いがあるものもある。

With “A Puzzling Statement”, I used a red－hot color palette to express burning puzzlement. My intention was to create an intense, fiery space with ardent vibrations. The piece conveys a passion full of unanswerable questions, unresolved hesitations, and the anxious desire to still make sense of them. Like many of my works, this painting was born out of a set of emotive feelings that I had been experiencing myself. I often feel the urge to recreate and share them with viewers through artistic evocations full of vivid reminiscences.
“Facets of Conception” seeks to capture visually the special moment of our conception in our mother’s womb. This is the vital instant where each of us begins to move out of a mere possibility into an organic reality, slowly embodied thanks to a potent union of life－bearing forces within a nourishing, pulsating, and cradling sanctuary. This sculpture counts 27 facets, each coated with a separate piece of priming fabric; each is a distinct painting playing its own role in the larger set of rhythms. Several works of mine aim to give color to primal emotions of origination and generation.
